Want to raise money for Cure Parkinson’s and save the environment? Recycle your used or unwanted items for cash or a donation. As well as helping to find a cure for Parkinson’s, you will be helping to keep items out of landfill.

Mobile phones, cameras, gadgets, and other electronics

Got an old phone at the back of a cupboard? What about a camera that doesn’t work? These and other used electronics can all be recycled. We work with Recycling for Good Causes to recycle all kind off gadgets. Check out the full list of what they accept here.

There are 2 easy ways to recycle electronics for Cure Parkinson’s.

Send your mobile phone or gadget to us in the post

Alternatively, you can donate a larger collection of items or create a collection point for your local community. Simply request a recycling box or sack from Recycling for Good Causes and arrange a free collection when it’s full or at a minimum weight of 10kg.

Call 0800 633 5323 or email info@recyclingforgoodcauses.org to start your recycling collection. Once collected, your donated goods are recycled and Cure Parkinson’s will receive a cheque for the recycled value.

Coins and foreign currency

Pesos, Francs, Rupees, and more—foreign currencies that can’t be used in the UK but shouldn’t go to waste. We’ve partnered with Recycling for Good Causes to help you recycle both old and new coins and banknotes, including those no longer in circulation and pre-Euro currency.

Here are two simple ways to recycle currency for the benefit of Cure Parkinson’s:

For Banknotes:

If you have banknotes you’d like to recycle, just place them in an envelope (no larger than A5) and send them off for free using a provided freepost label (PDF, 60KB). If you’d like to receive freepost recycling envelopes, please get in touch with us at info@cureparkinsons.org.uk, providing your contact details and the quantity of envelopes you require.

For Coins:

You can contribute larger coin collections or establish a collection point for your local community. Just request a recycling box or sack from Recycling for Good Causes and schedule a complimentary pickup once it’s full or reaches a minimum weight of 10kg.

To start your recycling collection, call us at 0800 633 5323 or email info@recyclingforgoodcauses.org. Once your donated items are collected, they’ll be recycled, and we’ll receive a check for their recycled value. Your contribution helps support the cause of finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease.

Stamps

Received a letter recently? Don’t discard the postage stamp along with the envelope! Instead, consider saving them and sending them our way. We gladly accept various types of stamps, including used, first and second class, foreign, first day covers, presentation packs, and albums.

Here’s a simple process to follow:

Carefully remove the postage stamp from the used envelope, taking care not to damage it.

Once you have a collection of stamps, place them in an envelope.

Send the envelope to us at the following address:

Cure Parkinson’s
120 New Cavendish Street
London W1W 6XX

When we receive your stamps, we’ll forward them to Recycling for Good Causes, who will, in turn, send us a cheque for the recycled value of the stamps.

Ink cartridges

45 million ink cartridges end up in the landfill in the UK every year. Not only can you help prevent this, but you can send them to Recycle4Charity. They’ll pay you up to £2 per cartridge, recycle them, and then donate directly to Cure Parkinson’s.

Start recycling your used ink cartridges today and request your prepaid label to attach to an envelope or box from Recycle4Charity.

Cars

Trading in your old car for a newer model? Give a Car will collect it for free anywhere in the UK. Then it will be either auctioned or scrapped and the proceeds will go directly Cure Parkinson’s.

Clothes

Create more room in your closet by giving away your gently used clothes. Thrift+ offers a simple way for you to declutter. Simply request a free ThriftBag, pack it with clothing you no longer need, and send it back without any shipping costs.

Once Thrift+ receives your clothing, they do all the hard stuff like photographing your items professionally, crafting item descriptions, and posting them on their online shop.

When one of your items gets sold, Thrift+ will notify you. At that point, you can choose Cure Parkinson’s as the charity you’d like the proceeds of your sale to be donated.
