Whether you have your very own green oasis or enjoy bringing a small piece of the outdoors in, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the best of blooms and help fundraise towards a cure for Parkinson’s.
There are plenty of ways to get involved. Listed below are some favourite ideas to help get your plans underway!
Flower arranging – host an afternoon or evening with friends and get creative with a flower arranging workshop. You could add an afternoon tea, cake sale or raffle to the day to help raise some extra funds. Take your blooming beautiful creations home to enjoy or maybe gift to a loved one to brighten their day.
Plant sale – Have a handful of cuttings you can spare? Why not share with neighbours and loved ones and set up a plant sale. It’s worth speaking with local garden centres to see if they have any beautiful blooms they’d be happy to donate.
Open garden – Open the gates to your green oasis and take part in the National Garden Scheme. You can ask for donations on the door or perhaps sell plants or cream teas to help welcome friends and neighbours.
Garden for a neighbour – lend a helping hand to a neighbour and offer to help brighten up their garden. Whether it’s mowing the lawn, digging up weeds or planting some beautiful blooms. Ask for a donation for your time and both help a friend and help us towards finding a cure for Parkinson’s.
Window boxes – brighten up your windows for all your neighbours to see, using anything from relaxing pastel tones to bright and cheerful colours. You could display a QR code to your JustGiving page for any passers by to donate to.
Go plant based for a month – challenge yourself to make and enjoy some new, delicious plant-based food. Think an abundance of veggies and salads, lentil bolognese, spicy falafels and plant-based pasta. You could host a dinner party and share your new dishes.
