The Fundraising Team have created some guidelines to help you plan ahead and keep your event safe.

Plan ahead

When organising your own event, planning ahead will help you make sure your event is safe, legal and successful!

You’ll need to make sure your event falls in line with any Government and local council guidelines. You can find more information on this here.

Permissions

Before you begin promoting your fundraising, check if any part of your event requires permission from your local council.

You can find out more about when you need permission here.

Insurance

If you’re running your own event, there is no legal requirement for you to take out Public Liability Insurance. However, you may wish to do this as it means you will be covered if anyone injures themselves at your event.

It is worth asking any supplier you hire for your event to present their Public Liability Insurance certificate too.

Food and drink

If you’re preparing and cooking food for the public as part of your event, you need to make sure this is done safely. The Food Standards Agency provides some useful guidelines on this. You can find out more here.

If using a caterer for your event, make sure they have a Food Hygiene Certificate and Public Liability Insurance.

When handling food and drink at an event, please ensure you have the correct dietary and allergy information from your guests.

First Aid

Some events require you to have a first aider present or first aid services.

Please note that Cure Parkinson’s cannot accept any responsibility for accidents, injuries, loss or damage that may occur during your event.
