Our fundraising heroes challenged themselves to run, cycle swim, skydive and drum to raise funds and awareness in support of our research.

24-hour drumathon

Supporter Debbie, her husband Graham and son Louis organised a drumathon to raise over £3,000 for us. Their drumathon challenge saw Graham and Louis play the drums continuously over a 24-hour period, with just a 5-minute break every hour. To keep them going, they were joined by friends and fellow musicians (even throughout the night) and also livestreamed the challenge, helping to raise an incredible £1,000 on the day itself.

A leap of faith

Meanwhile fundraiser Gemma challenged herself to complete a skydive, raising funds and awareness for us in memory of a loved one who lived with Parkinson’s.

Racing for #TeamCure

The Nicholson family took on an inflatable 5km run in Glasgow, embarking on the challenge to raise over £1,300 in support of our Parkinson’s research!

Dan completed the T100 London Olympic Triathlon – a 1,500m swim, 40km cycle, and 10km run – all whilst recovering from injury.

Friends Sarah and Heidi took on their own challenges to raise a staggering £3,700 together in support of our research. Sarah ran the Berlin Marathon, and Heidi took part in the 2km Swim Rutland open water challenge.

A number of our supporters also took on half and full marathons to raise funds for our research, including Dawn who ran the Loch Ness Marathon, Emma, who completed the Battersea Half Marathon, plus Mike and Cure Parkinson’s very own Sophie who ran the Big Half!
