Cure Parkinson’s Fundraising Heroes: August 2025

From walking and running, to afternoon tea and a duck race, take a look at how some of our Fundraising Heroes supported us in August.
Dover to Deal
Longtime Cure Parkinson’s supporter Theresa organised her own Walk To Cure Parkinson’s trek. Embarking on a stretch of the Saxon Shore Way, Theresa planned a 20km route from Dover to Deal. Theresa got a team of fellow fundraisers together for the walk – all with a connection to Parkinson’s – and together they raised over £1,900!
Theresa said: “I’m really pleased to have gathered a group of Cure Parkinson’s supporters to walk the coastal path across the white cliffs of Dover retracing the steps that the charity co-founder Tom Issacs took before he set up the charity 20 years ago.”

Time for Tea
Meanwhile Sandra organised an afternoon tea at her village hall, inviting friends, family and her local community to pop along for a drink and slice of homemade cake. There was also a book sale, tombola, raffle and even a hand massage stall set up, and Sandra raised an incredible £3,000 with the event!

Racing 100 miles
Keen runner and previous Fundraiser of the Year award winner Antony tied up his laces once again, taking on another epic 100 mile race in support of the charity. Antony completed the North Downs Way 100 in an impressive 27 hours and 44 minutes!

Bank Holiday fun
The Crooked Billet pub held their annual August Bank Holiday duck race in aid of Cure Parkinson’s this year. Set alongside the River Whitewater, the pub is the perfect place for a rubber duck race, with patrons young and old taking part. The pub also organised other duck-themed fundraising initiatives, and with the weather on their side it was a very busy day for fundraising.
