Our amazing Fundraising Heroes took advantage of the summer sunshine to take on some incredible challenges.

Walking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path

Steve (who lives with Parkinson’s) and his wife Elaine walked part of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path for us, and more than doubled their fundraising target with their challenge!

The pair hiked around 56 miles over 6 days from Tenby to St David’s along the iconic coastal path, reaching their finish line at St David’s Cathedral in the sunshine.

Running for a cure

Timothy, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s eight years ago, ran the Summer Ready Run Ultramarathon in Peterborough and raised over £2,800 in support of our vital Parkinson’s research. Thank you, Timothy!

And keen runner Clare used her 200th Parkrun milestone to raise funds and awareness for us. To mark the momentous achievement she donned her Cure Parkinson’s running top to run her local 5km Parkrun route, raising great funds and awareness for us with her regular hobby.

Pedaling for Parkinson’s

Supporter Caroline cycled around 300 miles from London to Paris over 4 days, coinciding her arrival in Paris with the end of the Tour de France. Caroline has taken on a number of cycling fundraising challenges for us previously, including the London to Brighton Bike Ride in 2024, all in memory of her late dad who lived with Parkinson’s.

Meanwhile fundraiser Andrew Parkes cycled over 400 miles from Aberdaron, Wales to Margate, Kent, raising over £5.5k with his impressive challenge. Andrew chose to support the charity as his mother lives with Parkinson’s. Andrew was joined by members of his local mountain biking group for the final stretch of the journey, before celebrating completing the challenge on Margate’s seafront.
