Dr Emily Atkinson

Dr Emily Atkinson is a Research Fellow at UCL School of Pharmacy and an Associate Lecturer at The Open University. Her research focuses on the use of biomaterials coupled with local immunosuppression to improve therapeutic cell transplantation to the brain, and discovering novel peptide mimetics of growth factors for regenerative medicine. She teaches a Translational Medicines module, with a focus on new treatments for Parkinson’s disease and is passionate about getting ECRs actively involved with PPI from the start of their careers.
