Host a ‘Time for Tea’ afternoon and help raise vital funds for Cure Parkinson’s in our 20th year.

Whilst we’re not celebrating, we are making sure to mark 2025 as our 20th year. As china is traditionally gifted for 20 years and there being no better way to catch up with friends than over tea and cake, we are delighted to invite all to join us and take part in ‘Time for Tea’ to help raise vital funds for Cure Parkinson’s.

With the warmer months and bank holidays just around the corner, there are plenty of opportunities to host an afternoon tea in your community with friends, family and colleagues.

Whether you choose fine linens with elegant tableware or a relaxed get together with plenty of home baked treats, there are so many ways to come together and help raise vital funds for Parkinson’s research.

How your support helps

By hosting a ‘Time for Tea’ event, you can help make a cure just a question of time.

“I can vividly remember walking out of the hospital after hearing those fateful words: ‘You have Parkinson’s.’ From that moment on, it felt like a countdown had started – a countdown to an unknown fate…. If there was a cure tomorrow, a chance to reset that clock – it would mean the world to me.”

Kuhan

For millions of people living with Parkinson’s, time is everything. Every day brings uncertainty – what symptoms will worsen? What abilities might be lost?

That’s why Cure Parkinson’s is committed to funding groundbreaking research that can stop Parkinson’s in its tracks. Every breakthrough brings us closer to a cure, and every donation helps speed up the process.

When should I host my ‘Time for Tea’?

Anytime you like! With April being Parkinson’s Awareness Month and May bank holidays to look forward to, there are plenty of opportunities to get your afternoon tea in the diary. For inspiration, below are some days that you might like to choose to host your event:

  • World Parkinson’s Day – 11 April
  • Easter weekend – 19 – 21 April
  • National Tea Day- 21 April
  • World Baking Day – 17 May
  • National Scone Day – 30 May
  • National Cream Tea Day – 27 June
  • Afternoon Tea Week – 12 – 18 August
  • National Cake Day – 26 November
Where should I host my event?

Completely up to you! If you’re a member of a community group, school, workplace or place of worship, why not see if you can host your event at the centre or hall. If timings are a bit tricky, you could see if you can attach a Time for Tea event before or after a recurring service or meeting where guests are already on the spot to enjoy some tea and cake.

Smaller and cosy events are perfect to host in the comfort of your own home. If you’re not too keen on baking but would still love to host, why not make a booking at a local hotel, restaurant or café and invite friends along.
