The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s biggest match-funded campaign and Cure Parkinson’s is delighted to have been chosen as one of its beneficiaries.

If you donated via the Big Give in 2023, your gift was doubled – so, your donation towards the phase 3 clinical trial of ambroxol achieved twice the impact. Together, thanks to your generosity, we raised an incredible £45,822 – thank you! Learn more about the challenge below.

For seven days, from midday on Tuesday 28 November to midday on Tuesday 5 December, the challenge offered supporters the opportunity to double donations — and, in doing so, make an extraordinary difference to our Parkinson’s funded research – all donations made towards the phase 3 clinical trial for ambroxol were doubled!

In the UK, every hour two people are told they have Parkinson’s. It is predicted that one person in 37 in the UK will receive a diagnosis of Parkinson’s during their lifetime – it is the fastest growing neurological condition yet only 17% of people in the UK are aware of this.

Cure Parkinson’s was founded to expedite research into a cure. Everything we do is moving us closer to our goal of finding new treatments to slow, stop or reverse the progression of Parkinson’s and your donation will lead to the breakthroughs in treating the condition that we all want to see.

Alison’s life changed forever when she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s eight years ago at the age of 46.

Research gives me hope and that’s why I support Cure Parkinson’s – they are the only UK organisation solely focused on finding a cure.

The Big Give is a simple idea – if you choose to donate to Cure Parkinson’s through the Big Give platform from 28 November to 5 December, throughout those seven days up to £20,000 of donations will be matched by a Champion Funder and an Anonymous Pledger. That means every pound you give is doubled! So, your generous £10 donation becomes £20, or £100 becomes a powerful £200! ”
