My Story: Our Cure
Everyone’s experience with Parkinson’s is different. Every person has a different story to tell. But in the end, everyone is connected by one simple goal – we all want a cure.
It could be a growing problem with a tremor in your hand; a slow, continuous build-up of anxiety and stress; or being active one moment and completely immobilised the next. With over 40 symptoms, there are so many ways Parkinson’s can suddenly become a part of your life.
Every day we hear from people living with Parkinson’s about the ways the condition constantly disrupts their lives. So, we asked some of the most passionate members of our community if they would share a glimpse into their journey. Through these deeply personal video testimonials, they share the moment of their diagnosis and the challenges of their daily experiences since.
But beyond that, they tell us about their hope for a future without Parkinson’s. How despite everything they are going through, they are staying proactive and focused on what they can do to make progress towards a cure for everyone living with the condition.
When it comes to Parkinson’s, their stories are unique, but they are all our stories. Their progress will be our progress. Their cure will be our cure.
So, watch now, be inspired and find out directly from people living with Parkinson’s what you can do to help us find treatments.

John’s story

“If we can get more people from outside of the Parkinson’s community supporting Cure Parkinson’s, then we’ll have more chances of raising the funds to get the next trial up and running.”
Shafaq’s story

“If we don’t have the whole spectrum of people that have Parkinson’s in our clinical data set… then we will never be able to treat the whole spectrum of Parkinson’s.”

“Ultimately we all need research. That’s the only way we’re going to find the cure that stops this and really gives us our futures back.”
