Costs and fundraising
When you join a Discover Adventure challenge, there are three different payment options available to offer you both choice and flexibility. We’ve put together a handy guide which explains the options; however don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
Option 1 – Fundraising
- A registration fee is applicable to all payment options and is non-refundable.
- You commit to raise the full fundraising target; this varies depending on the trip.
- Cure Parkinson’s pays your trip costs, providing we have received 80% of your fundraising target eight weeks prior to departure.
- All airline taxes are included.
Option 2 – Part payment
- A registration fee is applicable to all payment options and is non-refundable.
- You contribute a set percentage of the trip costs, with the remainder paid by Cure Parkinson’s providing we have received 80% of your fundraising target eight weeks prior to departure. The target is lower than the Fundraising option due to your contribution.
- All airline taxes are included.
Option 3 – Full payment
- A registration fee is applicable to all payment options and is non-refundable.
- You pay the full trip costs directly to Discover Adventure.
- You have no fundraising target, just raise as much as you can. 100% of donations will come directly to Cure Parkinson’s.
- Airline taxes are paid at the same time and in addition to the trip cost (capped at £250)
Climbing Mount Fuji, Japan’s highest mountain at 3,776 metres, has to have been the most difficult task I have ever undertaken. If it shows even one person that a Parkinson’s diagnosis doesn’t mean the end of everything, it’s been worth it.
