Our Fundraising Heroes have been taking on some incredible challenges for us, and some have even more challenges lined up for the coming months.

A Practice Marathon

In February, longtime Cure Parkinson’s supporter Alex ran a marathon through Dartmoor as part of his training for the 112 mile Devon Coast to Coast Ultra Marathon! Alex has been training for over 11 months to prepare for the upcoming ultra marathon in April – including by running marathons –  and has raised over £8,000 already.

The first of three Half Marathons

Meanwhile in March, fundraiser Grace took on the Lisbon Half Marathon for us. Grace is no stranger to distance running having taken part in the Birmingham Half Marathon and New York Marathon in 2025, and this year she’s decided to challenge herself to run three half marathons in aid of Cure Parkinson’s as her dad lives with the condition. Grace has raised over £500 already, and we wish her the best of luck with the remaining two half marathons she has lined up for the year ahead.

The Surrey Three Peaks challenge

Also in March, supporter Graham set off on an incredible 23 mile walking challenge. Graham walked the three Surrey Peaks (Box Hill, Leith Hill and Holmwood Hill) in a day to raise funds and awareness for us as his wife, Sue, lives with Parkinson’s. He was joined by family for the hike and raised over £9,000, too!
