Gruelling cycling challenge through the French Alps raises over £35,000 in support of Parkinson’s research

Parkinson’s UK chairman Gary Shaughnessy joined forces with Cure Parkinson’s Will Cook and 11 other philanthropists for charity bike ride in the French Alps.
The 13 strong team (3 of which live with Parkinson’s) are all keen cyclists, and most have embarked on similar cycling challenges for the charity previously. However, to make sure they were prepared for the daunting mountains ahead they all made sure to train in preparation for the epic challenge.

Setting off on Saturday 10 May, the team covered a distance of 600km and around 11,000m ascent over six days. The group managed to secure numerous corporate sponsorships for their adventure and with around £4,700 raised via JustGiving, the team raised over £35,000 in support of our vital research!
