Half marathons were popular with our fundraising heroes in April, along with an incredible bike ride and a charity concert.

Running for Team Cure

In April, many of our supporters laced up their trainers to represent Team Cure at half marathons across the country.

Fundraisers James, Dan, Alex and Harry ran Southampton Half Marathon in the spring sunshine, and raised an incredible £1,200 in support of our research.

Gill took part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, running the 13.1 mile route past some of the capital’s iconic structures including Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, and the Tower of London.

Plus we’d like to give a shoutout to Cure Parkinson’s very own Tash, who also represented Team Cure at the London Landmarks Half Marathon!

Representing #TeamCure:

An American adventure

Meanwhile, dedicated fundraiser Andy completed his epic 3,000 mile cycling challenge across America!

The ambitious challenge saw Andy cycle from coast to coast, setting off from San Diego, California in March to reach his finish line at St Augustine, Florida in May. Andy raised a staggering £9,600 in support of our vital research with his challenge and along with his friend Julie, who lives with Parkinson’s, plans to raise even more with community fundraising events lined up for the year ahead.

Pedaling for Parkinson’s:

Charity concert

The South London Jazz Orchestra held their 25th anniversary concert at Sands End Arts & Community Centre, Fulham in aid of Cure Parkinson’s. The big band performed an array of tunes from the worlds of jazz and swing, helping to raise funds and awareness for us.
