Cure Parkinson’s Fundraising Heroes: March 2025

March was a busy month for Cure Parkinson’s fundraising heroes, with our supporters running, cycling and hosting community fundraisers.
The community spirit
Longtime Cure Parkinson’s supporter Rachel organised a flower stall ahead of Mother’s Day, where she sold beautiful bouquets and delightful flower arrangements raising a phenomenal £1,188 for us!
Meanwhile The RUG Band, who hail from the Isle of Wight, held a sold-out gig in aid of Cure Parkinson’s at a local arts centre. The ukulele band were decked out in their Cure Parkinson’s t-shirts for the concert, and donated 100% of the ticket price to us.
And Kaye held a coffee morning in aid of three Parkinson’s charities, including Cure Parkinson’s. Around 70 people attended the morning, where homemade cakes and bakes were on offer, as well as a range of activities including guess the weight of the cake, a raffle and a tombola.

Pedaling for Parkinson’s
Fundraiser Sam teamed up with friends Ale, Sam, Tom, Chappy and Harry to cycle in the Cambridgeshire Classic.
The challenge saw the group follow a 125km route from Huntingdon Racecourse and out along the quiet lanes of the Cambridgeshire countryside.
The team raised over £2,700 in support of our research, too!

And this month a number of our fundraising heroes laced up their trainers to run half marathons for us, including Manon, who took part in the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon. Manon was running to honor her mum, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2016, and to raise funds to help support our vital research.
Also running for a cause close to their hearts, supporter Anne took part in the Kettering Half Marathon, Kim in the Cambridge Half Marathon, and Adrian ran the Paddock Wood Half Marathon – thank you all!
