Over £268k raised for Cure Parkinson’s at the 2025 TCS London Marathon

On Sunday 27 April, 42 incredible Cure Parkinson’s supporters completed the grueling 26.2 mile race.
Team Cure were battling the heat at the 45th London Marathon, but despite the difficult conditions each and every one of our determined runners crossed the finish line.
Of the 42 runners, including two living with Parkinson’s; Ed FitzGerald, who raised over £22,400, and Ben Karthauser who ran the race in 3 hours and 4 minutes to set the first Guinness World Record for fastest marathon with Parkinson’s disease!
For runner Tom Hulme, whose wife Ellie was diagnosed with Parkinson’s when she was just 29 years old, taking part in the marathon was both a bucket list moment and a chance to raise vital awareness for an important cause. Tom said:
It’s been a huge dream to run the London Marathon one day, ever since watching it on TV when I was little. But doing it whilst also raising money for Cure Parkinson’s makes it all the more special.”
Together, the team raised a phenomenal £268,582 – the most ever raised for Cure Parkinson’s at the London Marathon – and we are extremely grateful to our runners. Thank you!
We would also like to thank The Biskery, B-Fresh, and GU Desserts for kindly donating items for the runners’ goody bags, and a big thank you to Farzi Cafe for hosting our post-marathon event.
