Cure Parkinson’s Fundraising Heroes: December 2024
2024 was a phenomenal year of fundraising for Cure Parkinson’s, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped raise vital funds and awareness for our research!
We can’t wait to see what you – our incredible supporters – will do in 2025, but first let’s take a look at what some of our Fundraising Heroes got up to in the final months of 2024…
A Celestial Christmas
In December, Celestia Music held their annual carol concert in aid of Cure Parkinson’s at St Luke’s church in Battersea. The talented music group performed an array of classic Christmas carols to the sold-out audience, plus attendees were treated to a number of delightful readings from a range of texts, including two pieces read by Cure Parkinson’s patron Rory Cellan-Jones.
Attendees were also invited to enjoy wine and mince pies following the concert, and were welcome to purchase raffle tickets with some great prizes on offer. We were thrilled to announce that the event raised a staggering £14,000 too! A huge thank you to everyone who came along, to Celestia Music for holding their annual concert in aid of the charity, and to Rory for supporting the event.

Racing to the fundraising finish line
Bourton-on-the-Water based running club the Bourton Roadrunners made Cure Parkinson’s their Charity Partner of the Year in 2024, and in December revealed that they had raised over £9,500 in support of our research!
Throughout 2024 the Bourton Roadrunners donated profits to us from a number of their events, including their 10k race through the stunning Gloucestershire village and the Bourton Half Marathon. We would like to say a big thank you to the Bourton Roadrunners for their incredible support in 2024, and to everyone who took part in one of their events.

Help us celebrate an exceptional fundraiser who has gone above and beyond to raise funds and awareness for us by nominating them for our annual Fundraiser of the Year award! The winner will be announced on World Parkinson’s Day next year (11 April 2025).
